We made just such a fake wedding cake.

The base of the cake is foam circles. The diameter of the bottom circle is 38 cm, the height (thickness) of the foam is 12 cm. The foam is cut with a breadboard knife. Our circles are cut from polystyrene foam that was used as packaging for household appliances; it comes with all sorts of indentations, so our circles are all patched, but that's not a big deal. The main thing is to ultimately align the end parts.

So, three layers of the cake are cut out.

We cover each piece individually with white fleece. Glue for polystyrene foam "Master glue" or "Titinik".

Glue the layers of the cake together. For reliability, we pierce through all three layers of foam with wire (photo on the left); We bend the wire on top and at the bottom of the cake. We glue the bottom with beige material such as foamiran, thin foam plastic. We leave the structure under pressure.

To decorate the cake, we purchased a sand-colored anti-slip mat. We cut the mat into wide strips and cover the end parts of the cake with them. It is more convenient to smear the glue directly onto the mat. We glue the strips end to end.

We are figuring out where to place the main decoration of the cake - small roses. We took the roses from hairbands made in China; the material from which the roses are made is also some kind of foamy flexible plastic like foamiran. The decoration on top of the cake is a ready-made fabric wedding flower framed with feathers and pearl beads. To this flower we added petals from our anti-slip mat, and the flower itself, along with the feathers, was covered with a layer of PVA glue for rigidity.

We were inspired by the resulting beauty and continue to do the most enjoyable part of all handmade work - the finishing touches of the decor.
On the upper edge of the “cakes” we glue white and gold guipure lace, previously collected on a thread. We cut narrow strips from the rug and glue the joint line between the “cake layers” and the lace, glue on the decorative elements as your imagination dictates.

We cover the joints of the cakes with gold cord (glue them). We glue the roses too.
